Boat Pre-trip Requirements

Ensure a smooth and safe boat move with Vianto Boat Hauling by following our pre-trip requirements. Learn what needs to be secured and removed before the move.

Proper preparation saves both time and money. Follow these steps to ensure the safety of your boat and others on the road.

  • Store away all belongings. Items should either be removed or tightly secured to prevent them from flying off during transport.

  • Dinghies must be removed from the back of the boat and secured on the boat by the owner for safe travel.

  • Antennas, fenders, nets, rods, gas containers, and floats must be stored away. Make sure to lock all hatches securely.

  • The maximum height we can move is 15' 6". If pilot cars are required for the move, the expense will be the owner's responsibility.

  • For water-to-land moves, proper blocking or cribbing is required to ensure the boat's stability during transport.

  • Pump out all bilges and turn off the pumps to prevent water from sloshing around during transit.

  • Secure all loose items both inside and outside the boat, including fenders, ropes, and anchors.

  • Fasten canvas tops securely. If they are weak or damaged, consider removing them. Also, ensure all hatches, doors, and windows are securely closed.

  • Lower any removable parts like antennas or masts to reduce the boat's height for easier and safer transport.

  • Turn off all battery switches to prevent any electrical issues during the move.
